DONATION PROGRAM
GUIDELINES
Each year, the
Roaring Camp Railroads help many local, non-profit and charitable organizations
(such as: schools, churches, youth groups and sports teams) raise funds
for deserving causes, through the Roaring Camp Railroads’ Donation
Program.
Groups that qualify
are eligible to receive up to two exchange coupons good for roundtrip
excursions on either of the Roaring Camp Railroads.
To apply, please
follow these guidelines. All phone calls regarding this program are
referred to this Web site or are sent the same information by mail or
fax. So, please… no calls.
- Requests must
be written on official organization letterhead. Flyers, e-mail and
invitations, are not considered to be formal requests and are discarded.
- Include the
date of event, the purpose of the fundraiser, Federal tax ID number
and any publicity that will be generated.
- All organizations
must have 501(C)(3) status.
- Donations will
be sent directly to the benefiting organization at the address on
its letterhead. They will not be sent to a second or third party.
- Requests must
be received at least six weeks prior to the fundraising event.
- Only one request
from an organization or school can be submitted each calendar year.
Please note: requests from more that one department, club, class or
division within an organization or school must be consolidated, as
only one request per year, per organization will be approved.
- Note for schools:
only requests from elementary through college level schools are approved.
This does not apply to non-school requests.
- Requesting
organizations must be located within Santa Cruz County, CA.
- Money, merchandise
or meals are not donated.
- All donations
are fulfilled with two (2) “Exchange Coupons” good for roundtrip
excursions on either of the Roaring Camp Railroads.
- Exchange coupons
are dated and valid for one year from the donation request. Exchange
coupons not redeemed within a year are not renewed or extended.
