Annual Civil War Battles & Encampment
May 24, 25 & 26 (Memorial Day Weekend)
Visit encampments of Union and Confederate solders and witness historic battles at one of the longest-running Civil War reenactments in the West. Be advised that occasional loud cannon and gunfire may be heard as part of the re-enactment activities during the day. It is not advisable to bring dogs to this event.
Admission to the Civil War event is $5 per person and parking is $7 per car. Guests who purchase train tickets receive $2 off admission.

Celebrating 45 years through the Redwoods, Roaring Camp is launching an new 90 minute guided eco-hike from Bear Mountain back to Roaring Camp. For Memorial Day those guests that add on the eco-hike, you will get off the train at the top of Bear Mountain, have the opportunity to walk through the Bear Mountain encampment and meet the soldiers, then take a leisurely downhill hike through the forest back to Roaring Camp where you'll learn about the redwoods, the forest and the history of the area. Did you know Roaring Camp was underwater 30 million years ago? The first land owner for our area was Isaac Graham the cousin of Daniel Boone? This hike is normally $12 per person but it's specially priced at $5 for the three days of Memorial Day Weekend.
