Santa Cruz Holiday Lights Train
November 28, December 5, 6, 11, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20 & 21

Get in the holiday spirit on the Santa Cruz Holiday Lights Train. Ride vintage excursion cars, adorned by thousands of colored lights, as they roll through the city streets of Santa Cruz. Passengers sing along to seasonal carols while sipping hot-spiced cider, listen to musical entertainment, and enjoy visits by Santa Claus. (This is a one-hour train ride departing and returning to the Santa Cruz Boardwalk. It does not go to Roaring Camp.)

Groups of 25 or more can receive a discounted rate of $20 for adults (ages 13 and up) and $15 for children (ages 3-12). Tickets must be ordered through the Group Sales Dept. of Roaring Camp to qualify for the discount. Any changes in date or time for reservations already placed will incur a $5 per ticket change fee. There are no refunds or cancellations. Prices may change at any time and are subject to applicable California state and local taxes. Parking at the Boardwalk is $5 per vehicle.

Holiday Lights Private Car

Imagine your friends and family enjoying their own private car aboard the Holiday Lights Train! Santa will stop by for a visit, and you are welcome to bring aboard refreshments for your party. $1400 includes up to 70 passengers and signage marking the car as reserved exclusively for your organization. Available on any of the scheduled Holiday Lights Train dates. Must be reserved through the Group Sales Dept. of Roaring Camp. Parking at the Boardwalk is $5 per vehicle.

Private Holiday Lights Train

Charter the Santa Cruz Holiday Lights Train for a private party! Enjoy hot cider, holiday music and a visit from Santa aboard the train. You are welcome to bring aboard refreshments for your party as well.

This package includes a one-hour excursion and is subject to availability. Parking at the Boardwalk is $5 per vehicle.

Holiday Tree Walk
November 27-29, December 5-6

Ride the steam train to Bear Mountain and view holiday trees decorated by youth and community groups along the Holiday Tree Walk. Group discount available on any scheduled public train ($16.50 for adults, $11.50 for children). Minimum of 25 tickets required. Reservations must be made through the Group Sales Dept. to qualify for the group rate. Private charters are also available (scheduled dates only).

Roaring Camp Private Holiday Party

Looking for a unique venue for your Holiday Party this year? Roaring Camp’s Bret Harte Hall offers 6120 square feet of unobstructed meeting space. We can help you create a complete theme with decorations, activities, food and entertainment.

Just for the holidays, we are offering a discounted rate of $1500 for six hours. This package includes our standard tables, chairs, red-white checkered tablecloths, poinsettia centerpieces and a holiday tree. Meals, entertainment, special decorations, activities and party equipment are extra and vary based on selections. Capacity for dinner is 250.

Holiday Games/Team Building

Need a fun staff outing with a holiday twist? We can customize your day with catering and activities like the Fruitcake Fling. Pick and choose a few options for a full day of fun. Materials for all activities are provided. Small prizes for winning teams are also included. Call for a customized quote. We are happy to price out additional options just for your group as well.

Wrap It Up

Your group is divided into teams of two. One arm of each is tied to the other. Each team has to work together to wrap a present. The first team done wins. Small prizes are included.

Indoor Snowball Fight

The group is divided in half with a line down the middle and given piles of newspaper. Participants have to wad up the newspaper to form “snowballs” and throw them onto the other side while the song “Let It Snow” plays. The team with fewer “snowballs” on their side wins. Small prizes included.

Fruitcake Fling

The group lines up on one side of the field. Everyone has a chance to throw the fruitcake, and whoever can chuck it the furthest wins. Small prizes for the top three are included. Fruitcakes are provided.

The Living Holiday Tree

The group is divided into teams. Each team designates one member as the tree. The others have to decorate the “tree” with holiday decorations. The best tree wins. Decorations and small prizes are provided.

Build A Better Gingerbread House

The group is divided into teams. The teams work together to build a gingerbread house out of graham crackers, frosting and assorted candies in the allotted time. The best house wins. All materials and small prizes for the winning team are provided.

Train Ride to Bear Mountain

Enjoy a wintry train ride through the redwoods to the top of Bear Mountain. A minimum of 40 adult train tickets is required for non-scheduled departures. A steam or diesel engine may be used. Subject to availability.
